Information about approved mines in South Australia can be obtained from the South Australian Resources Information Geoserver (SARIG). This information is updated on a regular basis.

  • You can download a preset map of South Australia showing approved mines and mineral projects or open the SARIG application and manipulate the layers to obtain the information you require. Go to the Map Layers widget, select the Data tab, then open South Australia Mining Projects>Major Projects. Select Minerals (Major Mines).

You can save and/or print the map using the options under the Map tab on the top left grey bar (widget)
  • Information including project name, status, description, company name, company website link, ASX code link, commodity, resource/reserve summary, resource/reserve contained commodity and production data can be obtained from the Minerals (Major Mines) map layer in SARIG. Hover over the mine name to see the information.

To download the information go to the Search/Identify tab on the top left grey bar (widget), select Identify from the drop down list and draw a box over the mine name (or the whole state if you want the information for all mines) - a new window will appear with downloadable results tables. More about using the Identify tool
  • Publicly available documents relating to all mines in South Australia are available from SARIG. Go to the top left widget, select Databases, then Publications and Reports from the drop down list. More about searching the Publications and Reports database
