The PACE discovery drilling program embodies a partnership with industry to undertake drilling in areas with economic mineral potential, but currently hampered by cover rocks or other factors that discourage investment. DMITRE seeks proposals from industry to undertake cooperative exploration drilling projects jointly funded by industry and the government’s PACE 2020 initiative. PACE discovery drilling 2012

PACE discovery drilling 2012 |
|
The PACE discovery drilling 2012 has offered funding to 25 projects promoting greenfield type mineral exploration targets. Grants were also available for petroleum and geothermal exploration projects with funding being offered for a shale gas project. The proposal submissions underwent rigorous assessment both internally within DMITRE by a panel of Geological Survey officers and externally by highly experienced and independent assessors. Successful proposals are viewed as the highest quality exploration targets based on sound technical, scientific and commercial criteria. Successful proposals PACE discovery drilling 2012 Final project reports must be submitted to DMITRE by 30 August 2013. |

For successful proposals PACE discovery drilling 2012 provides grant monies for 50% of direct drilling costs up to a maximum possible allocation of $100 000 exclusive of GST. Proponent companies have approximately one year after the announcement of successful projects to complete their programs and submit reports and drilling samples. The reports and samples become open file very soon after completion to further aid industry participants. The project proponents and/or operational nominees undertake management of the projects. More information about the assessment criteria, report submission and conditions of acceptance are available in the Project proposal guidelines (.PDF). Information required by proponent companies is included in the Project proposal summary form (.DOC) |
