Exploration Release Areas
Applicants can submit an application for a corresponding licence within the published 5 day time frame for areas identified for release upon the expiry, surrender, partial surrender or cancellation of an exploration licence.

  • Next application week 4 August 2014 to 8 August 2014
  • ERA 364 added 1 July 2014, 11 new areas added 26 June 2014 (ERA 374 to ERA 384)

Areas previously held by the Department of State Development (DMITRE is now included within the Department of State Development)
Exploration licence applications over some areas previously held by the Department of State Development will be considered within published 5 day time frames.

Mining proposals open for public comment
Mining proposals may include applications for mineral leases, extractive mineral leases, retention leases and miscellaneous purposes licences. Public comment is invited on documents submitted in support of the application describing the type of operation proposed and the measures to be undertaken to rehabilitate the land.
